Disclaimer
Effective Date: September 25, 2026 | Last Updated: September 25, 2026
1. General Information Only
qr-code.love provides a free tool for generating static QR codes, together with guides about how QR codes work and how to use them. Everything on the site is provided for general information and practical help. It is not professional advice, whether legal, technical, financial, marketing or regulatory. Where a decision matters, for example printing a large run, meeting a regulation or handling other people's personal data, check the details for your own situation and take professional advice where appropriate.
This disclaimer supplements our Terms of Service, in particular the sections on warranties and limitation of liability. If the two ever conflict, the Terms of Service apply.
2. Test Every Code Before You Print It
The generator follows the ISO/IEC 18004 standard and reports the symbol version, size and error correction level it produced. But whether a printed code scans also depends on things outside our control. These include the print size, the scanning distance, the contrast between your colours, the material and finish, how much a logo covers, the quiet zone around the code and the camera reading it.
Always scan a proof with more than one phone, in the light and at the distance where it will be used, before you print in quantity. Static codes cannot be edited or recalled after printing. If a code is wrong, the only fix is to reprint it. We are not responsible for printing costs, lost materials or missed opportunities caused by a code that does not scan or points to the wrong place.
3. You Control What a Code Contains
A static QR code contains exactly the data you enter, such as a web address, WiFi password, phone number or contact card. We do not see, check or store it. You are solely responsible for that content being accurate, lawful and yours to use. That includes making sure a destination website stays online, and having a lawful basis for any personal data you put into a code. If you encode someone else's name, number or email address for business use, data protection laws such as India's DPDP Act, 2023 or the GDPR may apply to you. See section 15 of the Terms of Service.
A code keeps working only as long as its content does. If the web address it points to changes, expires or is taken over by someone else, scanners will follow the code to whatever is there now.
4. Scanning Safety
QR codes can be misused. A sticker placed over a genuine code can send people to a fake payment page or login screen, a practice sometimes called "quishing". When you place codes in public, check them regularly for tampering. When you scan a code yourself, look at the address your phone shows before you open it. Be careful with any page that asks for passwords, card numbers or payments. We have no control over codes printed by other people, even if they were made with this generator.
5. Accuracy of the Guides
We work to keep our guides accurate and date every change. Standards, phone software, printer capabilities and laws still change over time, and a guide may not reflect the latest position when you read it. Figures such as recommended print sizes, scanning distances and error correction trade-offs are practical rules of thumb, not guarantees. If you find a mistake, please tell us through the Contact page so we can correct it.
6. Translations
Most pages are available in languages other than English. Translations are provided for convenience. If a translated page and the English original differ, the English version is the reference. This includes the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Copyright Policy and this Disclaimer, and each translated legal page says so.
7. External Links and Third-Party Services
The site links to external resources, such as standards bodies, browser help pages and the websites of the services a code can open. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices. A link does not mean we endorse the site or its owner. The same applies to third-party apps and services your phone may open when it scans a code, such as WhatsApp, maps, calendar or app stores.
8. No Endorsement or Affiliation
Brand names that appear on the site describe what a code can link to or which tools a file works with. They do not imply any partnership, sponsorship or endorsement. "QR Code" is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED, and qr-code.love is not affiliated with DENSO WAVE. See our Copyright Policy for trademark details.
9. Availability and Changes
The site is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, including the generator, the guides or the translated pages, at any time and without notice. Because codes are generated and downloaded on your own device, the codes you have already made keep working even if the site is unavailable.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, qr-code.love and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or of any code generated with it. That includes indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, data or goodwill, and printing or reprinting costs. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. The full terms are in sections 6 and 7 of the Terms of Service.
11. Contact
Questions about this disclaimer can go to support@qr-code.love or through the Contact page.
